Prof. Gagan Kumar Kwatra brings deep experience and content knowledge in the fields of Arbitration and Taxation. Prior to joining NLUD he was heading the Indian Council of Arbitration, the apex body in India for arbitration and alternate dispute resolution. He also served the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry for over 30 years heading the Taxation and International Business Law divisions, retiring as the Assistant Secretary General. Prof. Kwatra has authored number of books and articles and has been a columnist with Tax Notes International and the Financial Times. He has also worked with the Harvard Institute of International Development on two projects on International Taxation.

 

Arbitration and Mediation Books : Arbitration and Conciliation Law of India (7th edition); Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (How to settle international disputes) – Joint publication with UNCTAD and WTO; Arbitration and Contract Law in SAARC Countries; Arbitration Made Easy – A Practical Guide;

 

He spoke at various International Conferences organized amongst others by International Council of Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), International Chamber of Commerce's Court of Arbitration, Paris, International Congress of Maritime Arbitrators, Kuala Lampur Regional Arbitration Center, International Law Association, Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group and International Federation of commercial Arbitration Institutions; Organized the ICCA conference in India in 1997; Judged the William C Vis Moot Court Competition on Arbitration in Austria.
