Prof.K.P.S.Mahalwar was in teaching and research in law for more than35 years in M.D.University, Rohtak. His research on liability for medical negligence was the pioneering work in India. He has supervised  enormous students in legal research. He has adorned the offices of Dean of the faculty & Head of the Department of Law in M D University Rohtak . He has organised several Conferences, seminars and workshops on various aspects of Law. He has extensively contributed in legal aid programmes of the legal services authority , besides chairing /participating/inaugurating and delivering the key note addresses in various Seminars and conferences . He has authored more than sixty papers  and two books in the field of law . Prof. K.P.S.Mahalwar has played a pivotal role in preparation and publication of the legal literacy material for  distribution among the masses in their own language. His dozens of talks on legal as well as social issues have been broadcast on All India Radio. He is an expert of Law  in several committees of the UGC/MHRD/ as well as on various academic bodied of the Universities all over the country. In 2009 The All  India Law Teachers Congress awarded him  Life time achievement award.
