Dr. Sarita Sangwan

Research Associate



I completed my B.Sc.,LL.B. and LL.M. from Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra(Haryana),M.Phil. from Global Open University Nagaland and Ph.D. from BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya Kanpur Kalan, Sonipat (Haryana).Prior to Research Associate at NLU Delhi,I practiced as an advocate at District Court Panipat for five years,worked as lecturer at Geeta Institute of Law at Panipat for 2 years (2007-2009).I worked for the centre of Child Rights and organized the 6th Asia Pacific Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect held at NLU,Delhi in association with the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. My areas of interest are Criminal Law, Environmental Jurisprudence and law of Property. I taught Legal Methods,Law of property,Legal History,I.P.C.,Cr.P.C. and currently, I am teaching Law of Contract-I.

I got membership of Indian Society for Criminology in 2013.  Co-ordinated for “Capicity Development Course for Teachers in Criminology” organized at NLUD on June 16-20, 2013.

I presented paper on “Role of community in prevalence of crime” at NLU Patiala 2014  in 37th All India Criminology Conference of Indian Society of Criminology,Chennai in Collaboration with Insitute of Correctional Administration, Chandigarh (28th-2nd Mar. 2014)

I attended Criminal Law-I, Criminal Law-II and Law of Evidence Workshops conducted at NLUD by National Academy for Law Teachers in 2012-2014.

I organized workshop on Mediation at NLUD in collobration with Delhi High Court

I delivered special lectures at HIPPA Gurgaon to newly recruited HCS and Class A grade Tahsildar on Land Acquisition Act 2014 and local Acts of Haryana in 2014.

Recently I attended “International Conference on Environmental Issues” at Vigyan Bhawan on 14th-15th March 2015.
