Room No. 406, Academic Block, National Law University, Delhi

National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) is organising a three day Conference on ‘Paralegal Education in India’ from July 22-24, 2016. This Conference is organised under the Fulbright Specialist Programme with Prof. J. Danixia Cuevas who is a Paralegal expert and a Professor at Miami Dade College, Miami, Florida, USA.

Under this programme, National Law University, Delhi is sponsoring a pilot project to “Train the Trainers” and inviting community, vocational skill development faculty, academic institutions, lawyers, NGOs and other stakeholders to participate in an engaging and interactive three day conference to learn how to create a paralegal program. NLUD would serve as the training facility for national community colleges and vocational training participants. Each attendee can return to their respective institution with a clear understanding of what is a paralegal, what is their impact on the legal system and how they can exponentially increase access to justice for thousands of people.  Such a program would be transformative for the students, members of the community, the community colleges and vocational training programs as well as the law school community which would be in a unique position to serve as a leader in promoting and advancing a new, exciting and dynamic aspect of legal education within India. This conference will definitely contribute in the skill development programme and would serve the Indian government’s mandate to increase workforce development program in India.
