UpComing Events Details
The Centre for Communication Governance continues its project of hosting briefing sessions before each major internet governance meeting, to help Indian stakeholders be better prepared regardless of their point of view.
Given the particular significance of the upcoming ICANN 54 meeting in Dublin, and especially since the IANA transition process has the potential to address some of India's concerns of US dominance of Internet Governance, the briefing session will focus on the transition. In particular, the key elements of the ICG IANA Proposal and the CCWG Accountability Proposal, as well as significant stakeholder comments that offer different perspectives of these proposals will be discussed.
The briefing will be useful to stakeholders attending ICANN 54 or participating remotely, and that it may even be useful to actors who are following the transition process in view of its potential impact on core internet governance issues.
It will be held on 12th of October, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Seminar Hall - I of the India International Centre.
