"Reimagining Indian Universities" (August 17 - 18, 2020)

NLU Delhi will be organizing the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) National Webinar on "Reimagining Indian Universities" on August 17 - 18, 2020.

NLU, Delhi was established in 2008 by Act of NCT of Delhi with the initiative of High Court of Delhi, is a premier Law University in India. The vision of the University is to create a global legal institution which will compete with the best both inside and outside India, and to prepare lawyers for a legal career by introducing them to wide range of opportunities in legal profession across the globe. The University offers the five-year integrated B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., LL.M. (Pro), Ph.D. and some Diploma programmes. The Chancellor of the University is the Chief Justice of the High Court of Delhi and the Visitor is the Chief Justice of India or his nominee.

In National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2018, 2019 and 2020 conducted by the Ministry of HRD, NLU Delhi has been consistently ranked as the second best Law University in the country. NLU Delhi has also been accredited with 'A' Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 3.59 on a 4 point scale which is highest in any State University in Delhi. The University Grants Commission has granted graded autonomy to NLU Delhi under Category-1 University. In the Swachh Campus Ranking 2019 of Higher Educational Institutions by MHRD, NLU Delhi has been ranked the third cleanest University in India. The students of NLU Delhi have performed extremely well and have earned almost all prestigious fellowships for their higher studies including Rhodes. Many students have joined Civil Services and lower Judicial Services.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Hon’ble Union HRD Minister has kindly consented to inaugurate the National Webinar of Vice-Chancellors. Prof. D. P. Singh, Chairman, UGC, Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, NBA and Prof. Tej Partap, President, AIU alongwith Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, AIU shall also grace the Inaugural function to be held on August 17, 2020 from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm. This shall be followed by the AIU Foundation Day Lecture at 12.10 pm which shall be delivered by Nobel Laureate and Social Reformer Shri Kailash Satyarthi. Padma Vibhushan Prof. K. Kasturirangan will deliver the Special Address.
