CASE BOOK ON VICTIM JURISPRUDENCE (2019

ONWARDS)

This project provides a unique perspective on victim jurisprudence by identifying the
emerging judicial trends in its development. Towards this aim, cases decided by the
Supreme Court of India wherein various aspects of victims’ issues were discussed are
being examined to identify the thrust areas shaping a victimological understanding of
an adjudicatory process.

VICTIM AND PROSECUTION (2019 ONWARDS)

This study seeks to understand the state of victims in the criminal justice system

through the lenses of prosecution. The prosecution plays a crucial role in realising
the idea of victim justice, by representing the cases of victims of crimes in courts.
Putting the victims’ interest at the forefront, an attempt is required to understand the
growing need to reshape the performance of prosecution. Selected judgements of the

Supreme Court and material from other jurisdictions are being explored for this
purpose. Additionally, the ways and means to ensure a victim friendly prosecution is
sought to be developed. 9
